neighborhood heterotopias?

I’m thinking that the neighborhoods razed by Robert Moses’ urban ‘renewal’ in the 40s,50’s and 60’s — neighborhoods in the Bronx for example destroyed by the Cross Bronx Expressway ,in Brooklyn by the BQE, on the West Side for Lincoln Center, etc, should be considered heterotopias. Although their physical boundaries have been erased and they are now inaccessible, they still exist vividly in the memories of the many displaced. And although they were all vibrant neighborhoods, they had been identified as ‘blighted’ and therefore deemed replaceable, part of ‘slum clearance’.
